Description: La metodología para el establecimiento de fines especiales del mapa geológico 1: 50,000 combina la información útil de los mapas geológicos y publicaciones existentes (se identifican los límites geológicos variablemente, posición estratigráfica, litología básica, espesor de lavas y la cubierta). Además, se complementan con visitas de campo a afloramientos accesibles y documentación de dichos puntos (levantamiento con GPS, toma de notas en libreta, trazo y fotodocumentación). Ayudan también los modelos de elevación digital y el uso de fotografías aéreas e interpretación del relieve del terreno.
